The professional Japanese Oire Nomi chisel by Kanetomo is a traditional woodworking chisel, designed for general use and can be struck with a hammer. It is widely used for typical carpentry tasks, joinery, furniture making, doors, frames, and more.
This chisel features high hardness around 63 HRC and is made from high-carbon Shirogami tool steel, also known as White Paper Steel. Shirogami steel is highly regarded in Japan for its excellent suitability for chisels and knives. The chisel is laminated, meaning the blade is crafted from two layers: a hard steel cutting edge and a softer steel backing.
The chisel handle is made from red oak (akagashi) and finished with a metal ring.
