Carpenter's saw made in Japan by Shogun - a manufacturer of professional hand saws
Dozuki type saw - equivalent of European back saw.
This is a classic Japanese dozuki model with a simple wooden handle and steel back for better rigidity and precision. The fine serration and thin blade gives a very narrow cut, recommended wherever accuracy and simple precision cutting is required.
The metal back guarantees excellent stability during cutting, reduces the risk of breaking or bending the blade, but also limits the depth of cut. This saw is especially recommended for making joints, tenons, dovetails, precise cuts...

Pulse-hardened teeth
Shogun handsaws with pulse-hardened teeth (with hardness Hv900-950) provide a much longer service life than teeth on conventional saws. The pulse hardened teeth keep their cutting edges sharp 3 times longer than traditional saw teeth.
As with all japanese saws cutting occur when pulling saw towarde itself. Thanks to that japanese saws have blades that are thinner, lighter and more smooth making for faster cuts.
