Master Craft - Shogun Daiku is a series of professional Japanese hand saws designed for the most demanding users. All saws in the Master Craft series are known for their exceptional cutting precision. The blades are thinner than those of other saws, with a thickness of just 0.27mm! All saws in the Shogun Daiku - Master Craft series are specially hardened and chrome-plated. Chrome plating prevents rust and ensures that the harder blade surface delivers even better cutting performance.

Dozuki Woodworking Saw – The Japanese Equivalent of the European Backsaw

This is a classic Japanese Dozuki model with an almost full steel spine for enhanced rigidity and precision. The fine teeth and thin chrome-plated blade produce an exceptionally narrow kerf (0.4mm), making it ideal for tasks requiring accuracy and precise straight cuts.

The steel spine ensures excellent stability during cutting, reducing the risk of blade bending or breaking, but it also limits the cutting depth. This Dozuki model allows for relatively deep cuts, up to 55mm, and is particularly suitable for joints, tenons, dovetail connections, and precise incisions.

Specifications:

  • Blade length: 240mm
  • Blade thickness: 0.27mm
  • Kerf width: 0.4mm
  • Tooth spacing: 0.9mm
  • Number of teeth: 27 per inch (27TPI)
  • Working blade height: 55mm
  • Total saw length: 565mm

Features:

  • Blade for precision cutting
  • Fine teeth
  • Fully reinforced steel spine
  • Straight wooden handle wrapped in natural rattan (note: natural rattan may have discolorations and minor imperfections)
  • Replaceable blade

Note: Handles made of natural rattan may have discolorations and minor imperfections, which are natural characteristics of the material and do not affect the saw's functionality.

As with all Japanese saws, cutting is performed only on the pull stroke. This design allows Japanese saws to have thinner, lighter, and smoother blades, resulting in faster and more efficient cuts.
